Meeting Minutes for July 27, 2006

Introduction of New Committee Members: Welcome Ms. Corey Wisneski, Dr. John Brawley, and Mr. Emmet Smith
Hurricane Preparedness Subcommittee: J. Carnuccio recommended establishing a subcommittee to update and provide recommendations to evacuate the basin in the event of a hurricane. The motion was unanimously passed. This subcommittee will be chaired by Ned Lawson and will included the marine interests in town including Long Point Marina, Bayside Marina, Battelle, Duxbury Yacht Club, the Duxbury Bay Maritime School, and Bayrider. Focus will be on the boats, docks, and floats in the basin.
Aquaculture Subcommittee: S. Dahlen provided an update on base map activities. The DBMC will need to provide recommendations to the Board of Selectman regarding the moratorium. Recommendations are needed from the subcommittee
Island Creek Herring Run Restoration: J. McGrath provided an update on the construction activities for the herring run. Construction should be completed this month. Next steps include developing a management program, stocking plan, considerations for public access, etc. There was also discussion about having a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

C. Wisneski was appointed Clerk.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:20pm.
